There''s LUV and LOVE.

LUV is expression of lust: "I love u so much, I want to hold u...", "kiss...", "climb a mountain for u..."

LOVE is God: the expression of care, trust and patience just as God (religiously) loves one person. "I love u so much, I''d wait 14 years for you."

LUV can work one way: Boy:"I love you... Kiss me", Girl:"I love you... As a brother".

LOVE can only work both ways: "The boy waited 14 years... Meanwhile, the girl got married to someone else and got kids!"
